No one wants us to lose. Its just an expression of how we down all feel. Being positive is seen as virtuous I get that but reality is that Slav and the owners recruitment and tactical plans are not delivering results and many fear the worst. No one wants relegation but we look the worst team in the league at present.
Our squad simply lacks the stamina/fitness/legs, quality on the ball and pace as a unit to play on the front foot and take the game to the opposition. The manager has tried to transition us from a BFS side that played direct and on the counter to one that can play possession football and stretch / open teams up. We do not have the energy/fitness, pace and technical quality across the squad, let alone the team to do that.
The success of last season made us complacent or even ignorant of some weaknesses:
Reid cannot pass a football that well
Kouyate cannot pass or control a football that well
We did not have an accomplished and strong right back and still do not.
Bilic does not play anyone with the pace, discipline and awareness in defensive midfield.
We have no forward/attacker to lead the line and provide options via channels or direct to someone who can hold it up.
Moreover the squad look unfit compared with the teams we have played.. No intensity or pressing the opposition and probably lacking the players to do that.
I will be happy with avoiding defeat. We will not win 4-0 even though its a nice thought.

Its my first game at the London Stadium tomorrow also so I really need a win. Cannot remember seeing us lose at Boleyn for ages.

Be good if we keep a clean sheet after shipping eleven goals in three consecutive PL games. Couple that with a positive performance and I would settle for 1-0. Even 0-0 would not be too bad a result. As long as we keep in touch with fourth bottom we have time to work away at getting some form back.

I'd be very surprised - even for WHO - that there is a single West Ham United fan on here who want us to lose again tomorrow.
However, this forum could do with a lot more positivity from some proper negative fans on here who have become far too serious and need to lighten-up a bit... And be more supportive of the team.
